Transfer Power: Understanding Partner Point Values
Most participating travel partners accept Ultimate Rewards transfers at 1:1. World of Hyatt is an exception: Sapphire Preferred accounts opened on or after June 15, 2026 transfer at 4:3, so 1,000 Chase points become 750 Hyatt points. Older accounts retain 1:1 through September 30, 2026.
Before moving points, compare the award’s cash price, required points, availability and additional charges. Review the transfer terms shown in your account; a transfer ratio does not establish a fixed cash value for every future booking.

Essential Travel Benefits and Coverage
Built-In Travel Protection
Covered events may qualify for assistance or reimbursement. Check the required payment method, covered travelers, exclusions and claim documents before a trip.
Eligible theft or collision damage can be covered up to $60,000. Rental payment and collision-waiver requirements apply. Liability is excluded; primary-coverage rules include a New York exception.
Covered reasons may qualify for reimbursement of eligible prepaid, nonrefundable costs, up to $10,000 per covered traveler and $20,000 per trip.
Qualifying hotel purchases through Chase Travel can receive statement credits within the account-anniversary allowance. The $95 annual fee remains a separate charge.
A qualifying carrier delay over 12 hours or requiring an overnight stay may cover expenses up to $500 per traveler. Eligible baggage delays over six hours can cover essentials up to $100 daily for five days.
Application Information and Required Documents
Have accurate personal and financial information ready before opening the application. Chase’s guidance describes the following common requirements:
- Identity and contact details: Your legal name, date of birth, address and contact information should match your supporting records.
- Tax identification: Have your Social Security number or ITIN available, following the application’s accepted identification requirements.
- Income and housing: Be ready to report income, employment information and housing costs accurately.
- Credit review: Payment history, credit use and other factors can influence the decision. A score range quoted by another website does not guarantee approval.
- Current card and bonus eligibility: Review restrictions for existing or previous cardholders in the current offer. Additional identity or income verification may be requested.

The current earning structure includes qualifying fuel, EV charging and vacation-home purchases. Participating rental brands include Airbnb and Vrbo. These categories may be useful when they match spending already planned for commuting or a trip.
Check temporary offers separately from the main earning rates. Eligible Lyft purchases currently earn 5x through September 30, 2027. The complimentary one-year Apple TV benefit requires activation by December 31, 2026, and its terms explain how existing paid subscriptions are handled.
Account-opening dates can also affect benefits. The former 10% anniversary points bonus is unavailable to applicants from June 15, 2026 onward. Earlier cardholders have a limited transition period, so an older review may describe benefits that no longer apply to a new account.

Up to $100 in hotel statement credits is available for qualifying hotel reservations through Chase Travel during each account-anniversary cycle.
Use the card for the eligible booking and check your statement afterward. The credit may appear within three business days, but posting can take up to four weeks.
Eligible charges receiving this credit do not earn points. Reservations outside Chase Travel do not qualify, and the credit is applied after purchase rather than deducted from the booking price.
Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS Credit
The benefit can reimburse one eligible application fee up to $120 every four years when charged to the card.
Choose the program that fits your travel plans. The four-year allowance is shared across these programs; applying to more than one does not create separate credits.
Use an eligible government or authorized enrollment provider. Third-party application-assistance charges are excluded. A statement credit does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Travel Assistance for Serious Emergencies
Eligible emergencies can qualify for an evacuation-and-transportation service benefit, with a limit of $100,000.
The Guide to Benefits requires a qualifying trip lasting 5–60 days and more than 100 miles from home. Medical necessity and advance authorization and arrangements through the designated service provider are required.
Independently arranged transport and local first-responder services are excluded under this benefit. Confirm eligibility and service availability before relying on it for a destination.
